Connecting your storage

How to connect Google Drive, OneDrive, or S3 as your OTIS data storage during activation.

Why storage is required

OTIS stores all your encrypted assessment data in your own cloud storage. This means your data never lives on OTIS servers. You choose where it goes — Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Amazon S3/MinIO.

Option 1: Google Drive

Click Connect Google Drive and sign in with your Google account. OTIS requests drive.file scope — access only to files it creates. It will create a folder called OTIS Intelligence Data in your Drive and store all encrypted data there. You can see the folder but cannot read its contents without your key.

Option 2: Microsoft OneDrive

Click Connect OneDrive and sign in with your Microsoft account. OTIS requests Files.ReadWrite scope — limited to files it creates. It creates an OTIS Intelligence Data folder in your OneDrive.

Option 3: Amazon S3 or MinIO

Enter your bucket name, AWS region, access key ID, and secret access key. For MinIO or other S3-compatible storage, enter the custom endpoint URL. OTIS validates the connection before completing activation. The IAM user needs s3:PutObject, s3:GetObject, s3:DeleteObject, and s3:ListBucket permissions on the specified bucket.

After connecting storage

Once storage is connected, activation is complete. All future analysis data — assets, findings, intelligence reports — is encrypted and written to your chosen storage automatically.

Migrating storage later

If you need to change storage providers after activation, go to Settings and click Migrate storage. OTIS will copy all existing data to the new provider before switching. Your current storage remains active until migration completes successfully.
